Appearance: Lorelei is 5'8", has strawberry blonde hair extending past her shoulders, and pale blue eyes. Her skin is perfectly fair and without blemish. She wears a black tube top, green-and-black striped, fingerless arm-warmers. Her arms are also adorned with several, plain black bands. She wears a black choker with small spikes on it, and a chain dangles from it, holding a card inside a plexiglass protector. She wears red-framed glasses with only the bottom half of the lenses framed. On her forehead, Lorelei wears a long, flowing red headband that has been tattered with age, given to her when she first joined the resistance. A green cape she wears on her shoulders covers them completely and little more, with thick strings crossing on the front to hold it together. She wears dark green capris and black combat boots with dark green laces. Her nails are painted black, and she often wears dark-colored makeup.

With her, Lorelei carries a brown satchel with the strap on her left shoulder and the bag hanging at her right side. The strap of this bag takes the appearance of a vine with many flowers. She often keeps her belongings - including her dueling decks - inside this bag; however, she has a steel briefcase (which she is rarely seen with) that holds the majority of her cards. She also carries her duel disk inside this satchel. The duel disk is predominantly crimson in color, with glossy black on the monster fields and red arrows where applicable. The edges of the disk are rounded off. The sphere in the center of the disk resembles a large, black flower of some sort that has vines creeping all over the duel disk, with thorns that are not sharp and simply give a cosmetic add-on to the overall appearance of the device.
Personality: Although Lorelei is independent, she often wishes she could find herself so much as a boyfriend, but her showy personality on the outside as well as her apparent desire to be left alone shows otherwise. She is not very good at holding casual conversations, and sometimes struggles to keep the conversation going, let alone interesting enough to do so. She often gives out favors in exchange for other favors, money, or Duel Monsters cards.
Background: Grown up to a lower-middle class family, Lorelei was often picked on at middle school for living such a poor life. While this may be a cliché story, some bullies actually ganged together to throw rocks at her house one night, destroying much of the property. When Lorelei found out the next day, she had challenged their ring-leader to a duel, knowing full-well that they were the best duelists in the school. However, she lacked enough cards to form a deck, so she asked for one of her few friends' decks - her friend Rune - hardly even knowing what the deck contained beyond its theme. She added one of her own cards into the deck. Before the duel started, the bully cockily reminded Lorelei that if she lost, she'd have to be their "pet," doing demeaning tasks like carrying their books and giving them any cards she came across. All she replied was, "If you lose, you'll give me your entire deck." The bully took no hesitation in agreeing. As they drew their opening hand, the bully told Lorelei that the duel would only take him six minutes to win.

Lorelei replied, "It will only take me five to win."

The entire class of spectators was shocked as the bully was down to his last remaining life points, while Lorelei had only lost 1000 out of 4000 - which she replenished. Lorelei's last monster was the one she had placed in the deck. Without a single Synchro monster in her possession the entire duel, she had declared the final attack. She asked her friend Rune how long it had taken her to win the duel,

"Five minutes, on the dot!" To which Lorelei replied, "What are the odds?"

The bully refused to hand over his deck, and tried to rush Lorelei with his gang. However, most of the class had supported Lorelei and defended her, intimidating the bullies with sheer numbers. The bully dropped his deck of cards, and ran off with his "friends," each one wetting their pants all the way home. It was from that day forward Lorelei was never bullied ever again.

Time passed and she spent more and more time growing up near her friends, including Rune. Whenever Rune needed Lorelei's help, she was there in a heartbeat to aid him. As time passed, Rune and her stopped seeing each other progressively, as each had grown older and had proportionally less time to spend with friends. Eventually, Rune and Lorelei agreed to exchange their cellular phone numbers - among other contact information - in case they ever needed the other's help. It was from that day - when Lorelei was 16 - that Rune had no more contact with her.

During that year, one of the worst days of her life since the years of bullying had occurred. Her parents been arrested for "subversive acts against the government," the government being the Society. She was outraged at this, for not only how much she loved her parents, but because she hardly thought they did anything wrong. She would often go outside during the night, armed with a flashlight and switchblade, hoping to find some leads to her parents. She never found anything out, but she had received a text message on her cellphone. Contained in it was a map, and the specifications to a structure. She checked the number of the sender, and it was Rune's number! However, in the text message was nothing but these two pictures. Puzzled, Lorelei had tried to text Rune back, but none of her messages could be sent for whatever reason.

After a couple days and several unsent text messages, Lorelei got desperate and headed out with her belongings in her bag and got to the building. She encountered no-one, hoping to avoid confrontation, and used what stealthy abilities she had to get to a room marked with a red "X" on the map. It was a single person's bedroom, and on a nightstand next to the mattress was a letter with two things: a card and a red bandana. It had asked her to join a resistance faction, and if she accepted, take the two items and head for the location on another map on the same paper. It was a letter from Rune.

Her "stealth" did not get her out of the building as easily as it had gotten her in, however. She was caught by two resistance members who immediately questioned her. She had revealed the letter to them, and without hesitation they let her go, giving her a few directions that she could not make heads or tails of on the map.

She followed the map's directions, which had led her to a Society sub-base, which had led her to only be more confused. However, she knew that Rune was in that building, and she wasn't leaving until she was at the very least reunited with her childhood friend. Lorelei prepared her dueling deck - feeling she might need it - and quickly and quietly slipped into the base, without having been noticed. Almost immediately after she got inside, the lock-down was initiated. She was frightened, feeling that she may have triggered it, but this fear would not stop her one very important goal: finding her friend.

(shrugs) Like it matters. As long as it's not another Nathan, then we're fine.

With much hard work and dedication, I have completed the biography.

... And have made edits to the background on behalf of Deivon, mostly 'cause he wanted something else out of the RP. So I am following suit.

I will be editing this profile for the new Yu-Gi-Oh! RP. Perhaps people will be able to get a slight understanding of what I want to see from their profiles. Although, not exclusively, because I'll be including characters in some places that will be off-limits to the players.
